We would like to publicly apologise to the two ladies who featured in the CCTV footage we shared today.
It has since been brought to our attention that the ladies were not talking about themselves, but were actually referring to the individual we have previously called the “OFJ hat man”.
We completely misunderstood their conversation, and we are genuinely sorry for getting this wrong and for any upset or distress our post has caused. As soon as we were contacted and made aware of the situation, we removed the video.
To give a little context, we have simply had enough of the constant shoplifting. It has been incredibly frustrating and upsetting for us as a small independent business. When we reviewed the CCTV footage, we genuinely believed the ladies were discussing their own actions, and in that moment, we felt we needed to take a stand.
However, our frustration does not excuse getting it wrong, and we fully accept that.
We have recently made changes to our shop in an attempt to tackle the ongoing shoplifting, and we are doing everything we can to protect our little business.
Once again, we would like to sincerely apologise to the ladies involved. We never intended to cause upset or wrongly accuse anyone.
