Motorsport has been part of Formex's DNA since the very beginning, most notably through our patented Case Suspension System, originally developed to absorb shocks and vibrations. The Essence Ceramica Dark Matter Redshift brings that racing heritage to life with striking red accents on the seconds hand, dial lettering and chapter ring. These vivid details create a striking contrast against the deep, almost black Muonionalusta meteorite dial. A black-gold galvanic treatment preserves and accentuates the meteorite's natural Widmanstätten pattern, formed over millions of years, making every dial truly unique.
But there's more to this dial than meets the eye. Unlike conventional meteorite dials, which typically consist of a thin slice bonded to a brass base, we take advantage of the meteorite's iron content to solder the dial feet directly onto its back. This eliminates the need for a separate brass plate, allowing us to use a thicker, solid piece of meteorite and precisely machine our signature beveled date window at 6 o'clock. The bevel adds depth and improves readability from different angles without casting shadows onto the date disc. A little piece of the universe, with a racing soul.
