Happy birthday to those of you born in June! This month has three birthstones. First up, we're featuring the Pearl. Pearl is an organic matter that forms in a mollusk. Natural pearl forms around a microscopic irritant in the bodies of certain mollusks, while cultured pearls are the result of a deliberate insertion of a bead or tissue that the mollusk forms nacre over.

In addition to being one of this month's birthstones, Pearl is the gemstone of the third and thirteenth wedding anniversaries.
