~Beneath the Surface 🌊~

There’s something so magical and captivating about peering into shallow water, curious for a glimpse of another world, not far removed from our own. Barnacles are abundant in this coastal landscape that I call home, and they’ve become a beloved source of inspiration for me. When I found this beautiful, faceted slice of aquamarine last year in Tucson, I saw the design immediately, but in true “me” style, I waited a year before bringing it to fruition. It’s a bit like being reacquainted with an old friend ☺️

There’s so much going on in this pendant….the facets on the surface of the aquamarine playing with the light….the light passing through the aquamarine, revealing the subtle color shifts within the gemstone….the barnacles peeking through the aquamarine, while allowing the surface that the pendant rests on to show through their holes and gaps….the partial barnacle bail on top, playfully continuing their sprawl….and so much more🌊

Handcrafted in sterling silver, with aquamarine, this pendant comes on an 18” rope chain✨

I’m thrilled to announce that Jesse Mixer and my proposal for an apprenticeship has been selected by the Maine Arts Commission and the Maine Crafts Association. Hooray! We will spend 100 hours working together over the next 6 months, learning new skills, creating fresh work, and having fun. ~Carved Empress Pearl Pendant✨~

I wish I had a kazillion of these majestic carved pearls to play with. They are just divine, and such a pleasure to design and create with. This pendant was a commission, to accompany the pair of Empress earrings that I posted in Dec., and I’m delighted with how she came out.

Handcrafted in 18k gold, with details from the land and the sea, this pendant features a delicately carved pearl, accented with a bright white diamond, and is suspended on a wheat chain🌟

Thank you to my client for the opportunity to create this one-of-a-kind heirloom set for her. There is true joy in creating and wearing handcrafted jewelry, and it is powerful💫

~Suspended Sea Water Pendant🌊~

I’ve had this stunning piece of faceted moss aquamarine in my collection for well over a decade now, and I cherish it. The mossy, salt water quality to it calls out to my ocean-loving heart, and the facets play so beautifully with the light. It finally found its way to my bench recently, and it was a joy to listen to, and then create, the simple, but elegant setting that it wanted.

This beauty is set in 18k gold, and accented with a tiny diamond. The 14k gold chain is separate, but available. If you’d like to wear this one near your heart, please send me a DM and I’ll tell you more🌿

~✨Empress Pearl Earrings✨~

Oh yes, yes please🌟 I purchased a couple pairs of these exquisite, carved pearls last year, but I ended up setting them aside because their nacre was a bit dull for my liking. Thankfully, my friend, John .mcveighjewelry suggested that I try polishing them, and it worked! 🙌🏻

Once polished, I capped the pearls with 18k gold caps (inspired by a pod that I found in my back yard), and suspended them from 18k and 22k gold diamond ear wires. And now? Well, I’m smitten🥰

One of my more recent commissions was to hand carve this shell pendant in wax, cast it in sterling silver, and set a gemalicious garnet inside, then to be hung on a long chain. Such a pleasure!🌟
