Tube setting (and a wishbone ring) is one of the first projects on the weekly classes for anyone who has completed the beginners course but if you can’t commit to weekly classes then there’s this 1 day tube setting workshop in March. Make a wishbone ring or a teardrop shaped pendant and set a small CZ stone. Full details and booking are on the website

There was the option to make either a pebble pendant or earrings today but everyone chose to make a pendant. It’s best to keep the design simple and I love the way all of these turned out. Most random sentence of the day, “feel free to get your pebbles out of the pickle” 😆

Not sure when this session will take place again, maybe sometime later next year but students on the weekly classes often do a bit of this with their silver scrap. They make great little charms for a bracelet too.

I’ve added a new spinner ring workshop to the timetable, this time with a little twist 🤣excuse the pun! For this spinner ring you will create the main part of the band as usual with a texture or pattern using the design stamps. Then you’ll add a plain silver band as the spinner but you’ll jazz it up a bit by adding either a pre-made tube setting and CZ stone, or you could add a pre-made bezel cup and set a gemstone cabochon or you can add a little accent shape such as a moon, star, heart, flower or butterfly.

Today was a bangle workshop with a silver or copper clay charm and they all turned out fantastic! Well done ladies 😁

I don’t run bangle making workshops that frequently as they’re not as popular to make so I don’t have another scheduled at the moment. There is a chain bracelet workshop taking place next year though in February if you fancy having a go. They’re great for soldering practice and learning 2 different methods of creating ring shapes.

The lighting is pretty rubbish at this time of year so it’s difficult to get really good photos, even with my light tent/photo set up. These aren’t too bad though so I’ve updated the images on the website for the next ‘Twisted Silver Ring’ workshop. There are several different styles that can be made during this session and it is a little more challenging than some of the other workshops. The results from the last one were fantastic though!

Christmas workshops are now almost all full. There are 5 spaces on the additional resin workshop and 1 space on beaded bracelets (the sessions in black on the list).

In addition there are a few silversmithing workshops through November and December that have a little availability.

There are a couple of spaces available for this Sunday if anyone fancies making themselves a silver pebble pendant or a pair of earrings. These are made entirely from recycled silver, in fact the original silver is recycled silver and we will be recycling the silver again 😆 we spend a little time testing out all the metal punches and there’s loads to choose from. There’s animals and marine life, moons, stars, hearts, flowers and leaves. Then there’s some random ones like the Eiffel Tower and even an owl that if you turn it upside down looks like Darth Vader 😆 Anyway there are endless ways to really personalise the design.

So if you fancy spending a few hours of hammering metal (very therapeutic) and melting some silver which is also very therapeutic to watch when you actually want to melt your silver, not so much when it’s not the plan, then this could the workshop for you. Depending on the final size you may get to make a set of both.
