What makes a watch design stay relevant for over 90 years?

First introduced in 1932, the Calatrava became known for its clean proportions, elegant design and understated luxury.

This Ref. 7119J-010 features a 31mm 18kt yellow gold case, white dial with gold Roman numerals and the distinctive hobnail-style bezel. Powered by a manual-winding movement and finished on a brown leather strap, it’s a classic example of traditional Patek Philippe watchmaking.

What makes a Patek Philippe truly timeless?

The Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 3588/1 is a beautiful example of understated vintage watchmaking, featuring a striking blue dial with gold baton markers, a 35mm 18kt yellow gold case and an automatic movement.

Introduced around 1970, the Ref. 3588 was produced until approximately 1980 and was powered by the ultra-thin calibre 28-255 - a movement highly regarded for its slim construction.

The Calatrava story itself goes back even further. First introduced in 1932 with the legendary Ref. 96, the collection was influenced by the Bauhaus principle of “form follows function” and has since become one of Patek Philippe’s most recognisable expressions of simple, elegant watchmaking.

Presented in very good condition, this example is paired with a blue leather strap and supplied with its box.
