Once an 18th century prison, The Bodmin Jail Hotel is now the perfect spot for a luxurious getaway.
(2)

Nestled in the heart of Cornwall you’ll find The Bodmin Jail Hotel – a place that intertwines the history of an 18th-century prison with creative, contemporary design to bring you a unique hotel experience. It will not only captivate your imagination but provide you with a luxurious escape from ordinary life. Once used to house the Crowne Jewels in WWI, Bodmin Jail now encapsulates beautifully elegant bedrooms created by combining three cells and their original features. Inside the weathered stone walls, you’ll find free-standing baths, walk-in showers and sumptuous bedding, all designed with comfort and luxury in mind to create the perfect setting for an enchanting escape. When you step out of your room into the original walkways, you’ll be captivated by the glass ceiling that creates a magical central space. From here, you can easily explore the rugged beauty of Bodmin Moor, wander the sandy beaches of the North and South coastlines, or delve into the delights of Padstow or Fowey. Our attentive team will be on hand to ensure your stay is everything you expect, and we cannot wait to welcome you.

The clocks went back last night, so our guests enjoyed an extra hour in their luxury cells! ⏰

Some are making the most of a leisurely morning with a full Cornish breakfast, while others are taking the opportunity to explore our Bodmin Jail Museum before heading home.

Step into The Dark Walk, an award-winning immersive experience bringing the stories of smugglers, highway robbers and prisoners to life through theatrical sets, projections, special effects and holographic storytelling.

If you’re staying with us, don’t forget to visit the museum before you leave. Our Reception Team will be happy to share more information.

This evening, one of our guests told us she couldn’t wait to sink into our freestanding bath, surrounded by bubbles, with a glass of w**e in hand. It sounds like the perfect way to unwind after a busy day exploring Cornwall.

Could you picture yourself here? Book your luxury stay at The Bodmin Jail Hotel and enjoy a little time to relax and recharge.
