What an adventure we have had in Peru!

In some of the most challenging and unstable parts of the world, pockets of extraordinary mining communities are selflessly choosing against the odds to work in a way which protects people and the planet. It is commendable beyond belief.

Responsible sourcing is at the heart of what we do; our business is fundamentally built around it.

There is so much to say, we are going to take some time now to reflect on how we best incorporate Fairmined gold into our craft. In the New Year we will be posting more insights into our experience in Peru, and into what responsible sourcing means.

🚨 For those who have jewellery ready with us - TODAY & TOMORROW are your last chance to collect before we're off to Peru!! 🚨

We've made sure that anyone with finished jewellery ready to collect with us knows that today and tomorrow are the last chances to collect before we close the shop from the 11th to the 21st of October for our trip to Peru to look at responsibly sourced gold mines...
..but just incase you've missed it we'll write it down again!

We will be open today and tomorrow as normal, 9.30 - 4.00pm, 9 Blyburgate, Beccles.

If anyone has not been contacted either via phone or email for a progress update on their repair/restoration/bespoke item then please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

Their loved one, entrusted in your hands. There is no greater honour than to make a customer a memorial ring. 🤍

With every memorial commission, I try to focus on elements that are personal to the wearer and the person they are honouring. Something special, just for them to know; details that mean everything.

Often encased inside the piece, or placed within a hidden compartment, ashes can be safely stored forever — keeping a little part of them with you, always.

Memorial jewellery doesn’t have to be obvious or loud. Many memorial rings simply look like rings, as some wearers never want anyone to know what they contain. Most people might never read this post and realise what this ring is other than pretty jewellery.

It’s not a great service compared to those professions that truly help people, but I always hope that those who have memorial pieces commissioned find a sense of peace through the process.

There are so many things to consider when buying a gemstone, we've looked at hundreds of thousands over the years. Brilliance, size, shape appeal, colour, tone, saturation, inclusions, depth and weight, are all things we think of before making that final purchase.

Everything we buy has to have the country of origin as a minimum, and a disclosure on any treatments the stone has undertaken. It makes our job a little more tricky, but its absolutely worth every minute.
