From school friends to creating an engagement ring for her daughter…
Who would have thought?

It was such an honour to create Rees’ engagement ring for Brett — especially knowing that her beautiful mom, Lisanne Pienaar-De Gouveia , and I were once school friends.

Brett brought me a Mystic Topaz he had bought in Kimberley many years ago, saving it for the day he would give it to the love of his life. He then wanted a colour-changing sapphire to represent his own colour-changing eyes.

I found the perfect sapphire, and together these two unique gemstones were brought to life in platinum in this beautiful toi-et-moi ring.

Two different gemstones. Two different people. Two different worlds. Yet beautifully connected.

✨ A family treasure, given a beautiful new life. ✨

These stunning onyx and 9ct yellow gold cufflinks were originally a wedding anniversary gift in 1970, from the wife to her loving husband.

For their eldest daughter’s 50th birthday, her loving parents asked me to transform them into elegant dangling earrings — while keeping the original “1970” engraving as a beautiful reminder of their family story.

A treasured piece of the past, lovingly carried into the next generation.

Six additional diamonds, once part of a treasured family heirloom necklace clasp, have been given a beautiful new life in this ring — carrying generations of memories and family history forward.
