Grand Seiko SLGB003 from the Evolution 9 Collection received the prestigious “Best of the Best” distinction at the Red Dot Design Award 2026 in the Product Design category.
Also, Tokyo Lion Tentagraph SLGC009, a sports watch inspired by the mane of the lion, received a Red Dot award.

Watches & Wonders Release: Evolution 9 Collection Spring Drive U.F.A. Ushio 300 Diver SLGB023

The “Ushio 300,” a Spring Drive diver’s watch with phenomenal accuracy and a stunning blue dial.

The watch showcases a blue variation of the “Ushio” dial. The term “ushio”, which means “tide” in Japanese, evokes the waters that surround the Japanese archipelago, a timeless source of inspiration in Japan’s culture and art. Combined with a gradient design, the vivid dial color emphasizes the “Ushio” pattern. The blue dial reflects the vast expanse of the sea through a gradient that captures light streaming into the deep ocean.

The bracelet includes a locking extension clasp with micro-adjustment.

This mechanical watch evokes an icefall that one might encounter in the harsh winter on Mount Iwate.
Such frozen waterfalls are natural phenomena in which the water flowing downward gradually solidifies when the temperature drops below freezing. This fantastic scene is depicted on the dial through the dynamic and detailed pattern, as well as a unique icy-blue color.

The case and bracelet are made of Ever-Brilliant Steel, a stainless-steel alloy that boasts higher corrosion resistance than the stainless steel used in regular high-end watches, making this creation shine a brilliant white.

The winners will be revealed at the GPHG ceremony on 13 November 2025.

The Grand Seiko Tentagraph movement is introduced in the Tokyo Lion design.

The lion symbol reflected the aim of the original Grand Seiko team to create the very best timepiece they could in terms of accuracy, durability, and beauty. Inheriting the lion symbol, this watch was developed in the relentless pursuit to advance the essence of the Grand Seiko sports watch.

The new creation features a dial pattern that takes inspiration from the mane of the lion as it waves in the wind.
