This is the first time I have openly shared that departed this world and I miss him more than words can describe. Being his mum was not always easy but it was always a pleasure. He filled my life with love and joy and quite often frustration but I loved him always and he loved me back. Being a mum, not matter to whom, is a blessing. Blessings to all the mothers out there in all of their varied ways!!!

Butler and I are on travels north for the summer. Visiting Christchurch and especially New Brighton have been a highlight so far. This is where butler and I first lived and spent many walks on the New Brighton beach. You can see he is happy to be back, even if just for a visit.

Spring is time to protect your wee duckling whanau. I really am turning into a bird watcher, love middle aged and all its joys. Am doing lots of knitting too while I rest and try to sort out my health and this darned chronic fatigue.

This fella is getting older, now 15, and his health is not always optimal. He is on a new diet to help and while there is kibble available he won’t touch it and prefers the wet food at $9 a can and needing 1&1/2 cans a day. Let’s just say that he is lucky he is loved. 🐾❤️🐶

Quite a while ago, in March this year, I attended a clay bead making class with artist as part of the Poipoia te Kakano exhibition held . Today I finally got around to stringing the beads up. Was a fun class and Jess was a great, patient and enthusiastic teacher who really knows her stuff. I particularly enjoyed how responsive the clay was at retaining imprints of my hands, and the environment.

There seem to be a lot of big footed people out there with only one sandal/jandal/flipflop/slips. It confuses me no end....

I go through seasons, in relation to picking up other people’s trash.i seem to be emerging from an angry and annoyed at everyone for leaving stuff to pollute our waterways and into a more philosophical season when I enjoy the process and am almost eager to see what I might find. These nails though, seem to have been there a little while as many of them where under the stones and pebbles. Am excited to see what might become of these once they are in the studio.
