Petoskey stone cuff links in brass. I tend to forget how difficult brass can be to work with until I get the idea that I'm going to make something from it. The hassle aside I really feel like petoskey stones with their muddy brown colors look great in gold colored brass settings.

Lake Superior agate earrings in sterling silver. This agate was cool to work with because the dendrites within the stone are copper flecks. It hails from Minnesota so keep in mind lakers can have copper in them regardless of where they are found. I've personally found several lakers with copper dendrites in northern WI. Once you know what to look for it's possible to ID copper dendrites in a rough laker but it's most often confirmed when you put it to the saw. Whether you get some visible on the polished stones surface usually depends how large of a concentration of them are within the agate.
