A little something about the person behind Somya London… ✨
I wanted to share a little more about myself, and one thing that has always been a huge part of who I am is my love of travelling, exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. 🌍
Growing up, my parents always gave my siblings and me the freedom to explore. Whether that meant travelling somewhere new in the UK or getting on a plane and discovering another country, they never made us feel as though the world was somewhere we should be afraid to venture into.
One of the greatest gifts they gave us was that sense of freedom and curiosity.
When I graduated from university, their graduation gift to me was a round-the-world ticket. I took six months out and travelled to 21 different cities around the world. I remember thinking at the time that I wanted to do it then, because once I stepped into the corporate world, I knew life would get busy.
And it did! 😂
Looking back now, I'm so grateful that I took those six months.
Travel is still one of the things I love most experiencing different countries, cultures, food, architecture and ways of life. There's something about being somewhere completely different that opens your mind and reminds you just how much there is to see and experience in the world.
I think that curiosity has stayed with me throughout my life and, in many ways, found its way into Somya London too, through my love of colour, design, gemstones, craftsmanship and beautiful things from different parts of the world.
Forever grateful to my parents for giving us the freedom and confidence to explore. 🤍🌍
