One day I'll figure out (probably won't) the mysterious military caseback markings (maybe not) on the back of this rarely seen 1940s Venus 170-powered 2Heuer2 chronograph (that parts true).

Until then (in my own imagination), it was used for a top secret British mission of historical importance (let me live).

This '59 Omega Seamaster model offers one of my favorite design combinations in the dual tone dial, full numeral set, dauphine hands, and subseconds.

An everyday watch style, no doubt—dresses up, dresses down, wears wonderfully, and sits low on the wrist. ✔️

I last shared this watch 6 years ago on my feed, so I'll dig up some old bones today.

I've never been big on 'franken' watches, but way back I took a Charles Chevignon Skyhawk donor watch and modified the hour wheel post to accept a 24 hour wheel, all so I could make use of this NOS Gallet dial.

Turned out pretty good, and deserves far more wrist time than it ever gets. Would I do it again? Maybe. I'll have to contemplate it over a bowl of black cherry to***co and get back to you on that.
