ICE OUT!

We heard a local politician say what ICE is doing here in Indiana is good for Hoosiers. We believe this couldn’t be farther from the truth.

ICE activity is a financial drain on our state and its neighbors, gobbling up billions of our tax dollars and disrupting local economies. It’s not good for us economically, nor is it good for our safety – it actually makes us less safe by having untrained, masked individuals and gangs roving our streets, using terror and chaos as a means to their end, leaving shaken, broken families in their wake.

ICE agents are not from our communities and don’t take the time to understand our neighbors. They are unaccountable to us and have shown that they will act like the criminals and violent gang members that some of our neighbors have fled from.

There are many reasons ICE is not good for Hoosiers, but ultimately, it’s not good for us because it’s not good for our neighbors, whoever they may be. We belong to each other as fellow human beings. ICE does not respect or consider the dignity of each individual on a human level. ICE acts as if it belongs to no one, answers to no one. So, no, ICE is not good for Hoosiers.
