This book is a wonderful resource to help support families, providers, and professionals working in early intervention — and another little fun fact... one of our owners, Rande Fregm, is featured in it!

Congratulations, Sandy! We can’t wait to see the impact this book has in supporting early intervention work. 💛

🧡💬 Celebrating Speech & Hearing Month 💬🧡

This month, we’re honored to continue highlighting the incredible Speech Therapists who support children and families through Early Intervention. 🌟

One of our amazing SLPs, Lindsay, shared what inspired her to enter the field:

“I was introduced to the career of Speech Language Pathology while I was in high school and given the opportunity to shadow a hospital-based SLP. I was immediately drawn to the complexities of feeding, speech, and cognition, as well as the compassion she held for her patients. From then on, I knew I would pursue this career.

When I studied this in college, I was fascinated by language acquisition and the broad scope of what we can help clients with (fluency, feeding, articulation, cognition, expressive language, social skills, language comprehension, and more!) I found my niche in Early Intervention, working alongside caregivers and children. I love championing the successes they experience each week and problem-solving difficulties together. I especially love finding strategies that work for each individual family and child.”

We are so thankful for SLPs who bring knowledge, creativity, compassion, and encouragement to every child and family they serve. 💙

“Early intervention plants seeds of confidence, connection, and possibility that can grow for a lifetime.” 💛

The early years matter so much; not because children need to be “fixed,” but because they deserve support, understanding, and opportunities to thrive in ways that honor who they are.

Through play, connection, encouragement, and family-centered support, early intervention helps children build skills, confidence, communication, independence, and meaningful relationships that can impact their lives for years to come.

If you have concerns about your child’s development, you are not alone. Reaching out early can make a meaningful difference. Connections can help guide families toward supports and connect you with Early Intervention services and resources to help your child thrive. 🌱✨

✨ Celebrating Speech-Language-Hearing Month ✨

This month, we’re shining a light on the therapists who help children connect, communicate, and thrive every day! 💙

Today, we’re featuring Ashley, one of our dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists!

“I became an SLP because I’ve always been passionate about helping and working with children! I love supporting my families and helping every child find their voice in their own way! Communication looks different for everyone, and I enjoy educating my families on total communication and all options — whether that’s verbal communication, sign language, or AAC. I love watching kiddos learn how to communicate and seeing the joy it brings their families!”

Ashley’s passion for helping every child communicate in their own unique way is what makes her such a gift to the families she serves. 💬🫶

Practicing skills doesn’t always have to happen the “usual” way. 💛

Sometimes using pretend play, modeling, toys, visuals, or practicing on something other than ourselves can help children build confidence, familiarity, and comfort with self-help tasks that may feel challenging or overwhelming at first.

Whether it’s tooth brushing, hair washing, dressing, or other daily routines, playful practice can make a big difference! Meeting kids where they are and supporting them in ways that feel safe and engaging helps build trust, skills, and willingness over time.

At Connections, we love finding creative, supportive ways to help children grow their independence while honoring each child’s unique needs and pace. 🪥✨

Little bites, big progress.

Mealtime struggles can feel overwhelming for families, but progress doesn’t always come in giant leaps. Sometimes it’s one tiny bite, one new texture, one brave try at a time. And, those small moments are worth celebrating.

At Connections, our OT team works alongside children and families to help make feeding experiences more positive, less stressful, and full of encouragement. We love watching little bites turn into big progress as confidence grows and victories add up.

If feeding challenges feel big right now, you are not alone; and it’s okay to reach out for support. Sometimes a little help can make a big difference. 💛
