This is to allow our hardworking staff a break after the busy holiday season, and to give our owner and jeweler Silas a chance to catch up on repairs, AND spend some time with his brand new baby and family!

It's baby time!

Our awesome owner and jeweler Silas and his wife Ashly are expecting the arrival of their second baby boy any day now!
Wait time for repairs, appraisals, gold buying etc. will be a bit longer this month while he takes some time off to be with his growing family.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, and can't wait to celebrate the holiday season with our customers when he returns!

In the meantime, Deb is always there to help, and we have a new part-time employee to join her!

Scam Alert for Yankton! I have had multiple of these rings into my shop this week to verify gold content/value. These are unfortunately what we commonly call in the jewelry industry "gas station gold". The scam often works like this:

• A deceptive story: The scammer, often driving a nice car and appearing well-dressed, invents a plausible and urgent-sounding story. They claim to be stranded and out of money for gas, or need cash for a family emergency. They may even have their family, sometimes with children, in the car to make the story more convincing and appeal to your sympathy.

• The fake jewelry: As part of their plea, the scammer offers to sell their "genuine gold" jewelry, such as a necklace, ring, or bracelet, in exchange for cash. The jewelry is usually stamped with a high karat mark like "18k" to appear authentic.

• The bargain: The scammer offers the jewelry for a price far below its supposed market value, portraying it as a desperate sale. The victim, thinking they are getting a great bargain and helping someone in need. Unfortunately the rings are plated brass or copper and essentially worthless.

Please share this info with friends and neighbors, I hate being the bearer of bad news that someone was scammed!
