🌻 LossiEleane Witnesses a Day of Rest

LossiEleane witnesses the day of rest.

She notices that sometimes a day of rest doesn’t look like sleeping in or doing nothing at all.

Sometimes it looks like someone placing a book in your lap and simply saying,

ā€œThis is a gift.ā€

She doesn’t see what happens after the gift is given.

She doesn’t see the shopkeeper sitting beside her daughter before bed, reading little excerpts from the pages. She doesn’t hear the questions, the giggles, or the quiet conversations that happen between the words.

And she doesn’t know that the shopkeeper has a little hope tucked inside those moments…

That maybe tomorrow, she will remember what she read.

Maybe tomorrow she will be a little kinder.

Maybe she will listen a little longer.

Maybe she will be a good friend to everyone she meets.

Not necessarily a close friend.

Just a friend.

Because LossiEleane is beginning to understand something about that word.

Friendship.

We use it so easily.

Friend.

Acquaintance.

Mija.

Baba.

Family.

Sometimes the words change depending on who is standing in front of us, what language we speak, where we come from, or what life has taught us.

But when you begin to break the word friendship apart, something beautiful happens.

You realize there are so many translations for it.

Someone who listens.

Someone who walks beside you.

Someone who calls.

Someone who remembers.

Someone who sits quietly with you.

Someone who says the right words at just the right time.

Someone who doesn’t even realize they helped you carry something heavy.

And sometimes…

someone who simply gives you a book.

LossiEleane has watched the shopkeeper collect many things along this journey... old treasures, forgotten stories, little pieces of people’s lives.

But perhaps this is what she is learning now:

Not everything that comes into the shop is meant to be sold.

Some things are meant to be passed on.

A story.

A kindness.

A memory.

A friendship.

A blessing.

And maybe that is why the shopkeeper keeps finding herself surrounded by people who began as strangers and somehow became part of the story.

Because sometimes you don’t have to become someone’s best friend to make a difference in their life.

Sometimes you only have to be a friend while your paths cross.

So on this day of rest, LossiEleane sits quietly and watches.

The shop may be closed.

The work may be waiting.

The paperwork may still be piled up.

The dust will still be there tomorrow.

But tonight, the shopkeeper has a book in her lap…

Her daughter beside her…

And a little reminder that friendship, in all its many translations, is one of the greatest blessings we can give away.

And perhaps, if she is paying close enough attention, LossiEleane will discover that this has been part of her story all along.

🌻 Sometimes to have a friend… you simply have to be one.
🌻 And sometimes the greatest gifts are the ones we pass on.

🌻 LossiEleane and the Story of the Sunflowers 🌻

LossiEleane has been watching the sunflowers.

She noticed something strange about them.

They don’t spend their days looking at the ground where they came from. They turn toward the light.

Even when the wind bends them.
Even when the rain weighs them down.
Even when the season begins to change.

They still look for the sun.

Maybe that’s the lesson LossiEleane was meant to discover.

Not everything that bends is broken.
Not everything that changes is ending.
And sometimes, when you can’t see what is happening beneath the soil, something is still growing.

The shop has been changing too.

The hours.
The displays.
The doors opening and closing.
The things leaving.
The things arriving.

And perhaps, just like the sunflower, SoJourner’s Blessing is learning where to turn next.

LossiEleane doesn’t know what tomorrow’s story will reveal.

But she knows one thing…

🌻 Keep turning toward the light.

Because sometimes the biggest blessings are growing where nobody can see them yet.

And if you’ve been following the clues…

You might want to keep watching the sunflowers. 🌻

🌻 LossiEleane’s little reminder…

The Variety Gift Shop is open today 11am–6pm, and LossiEleane has been watching carefully as the treasures find their way to new homes.

But remember… not everything you see is for sale. šŸ‘€

Some things are part of the story. Some things are waiting for their moment. And some treasures simply need to be left where they were found.

Please ask someone before choosing your treasure to take home.

After all… LossiEleane knows there’s a story behind almost everything. šŸ—ļøšŸŒ»

09/02/2026

LossiEleane noticed something tonight…

The lights are still on.

The doors may be closed.
The counters may be quiet.
The last customer may have already gone home…

…but the light is still shining.

LossiEleane is beginning to understand that 6 o’clock doesn’t mean everything stops.

It simply means the services stop.

The shopkeeper has learned that there is a difference between being open for business and being present for what comes next.

After 6, the work changes.

The sweeping begins.
The sorting continues.
The paperwork waits patiently.
The vendors’ treasures get rearranged.
Ideas that couldn’t find room during the day finally have a chance to breathe.

And sometimes…

the shopkeeper simply sits.

Because this season is changing.

The hours are changing.
The layout is changing.
The way things are offered is changing.

But the purpose isn’t changing.

LossiEleane watches from her little corner and wonders if perhaps this is what transition really looks like.

Not turning the lights off.

Not walking away.

But learning when to close the door so there is room to prepare for tomorrow.

The lights are on.

The shop may be quiet.

The services stop at 6.

But the blessing?

The blessing keeps working long after the door closes. 🌻

And LossiEleane has a feeling…

there is much more happening behind that closed door than anyone realizes.

— Chapter: Behind the Closed Door

LossiEleane witnesses so many of the changes at SoJourner’s Blessing.

But she wonders…

Does anyone else ever really see what happens when the door is closed?

The shopkeeper begins her day by assessing what should come first.

Should she empty the bags filled with mountains of paperwork?

Or should she simply sweep all the dirt under the rug?

The first pause of the day can feel overwhelming.

The dust is piling up.

The paperwork is multiplying.

And somehow, the shopkeeper is the only one who seems to notice.

Then, memories of the woman who brought water to the shop the day before come flooding back.

And suddenly, gratitude takes its place beside the overwhelm.

The feeling begins to fade as the shopkeeper turns her attention toward all of her blessings.

With every turn, there is a little more calm.

Because even though there are mountains to climb, she knows the helpers will arrive in some form or another.

They always seem to.

The silent prayers that have already been answered become the joy found in doing the work, even when no one else sees it.

The paperwork can wait.

Because in that moment, the shopkeeper remembers something important:

She can create something out of nothing.

So the work begins.

Displays start to shift.

Fixtures begin to come down.

Things are moved, rearranged, uncovered, and sometimes completely transformed.

A clear slate begins to appear.

A chance to make everything feel new again.

There is silence.

There is calm.

That strange, quiet moment…

before the storm.

And LossiEleane remains silent.

But she sees everything.

She watches the changes.

She watches the helpers enter the shop.

She listens as questions begin to fill the room.

ā€œWas this here before?ā€

ā€œI didn’t notice that the last time I was here.ā€

ā€œIs this new?ā€

The shopkeeper quietly laughs to herself.

No.

ā€œIt’s not new,ā€ she thinks.

ā€œI just took the layer of dust off of everything.ā€

And then she remembers…

ā€œI added this piece that you gave me when your mother passed away.ā€

LossiEleane watches as the helper pauses and studies the piece carefully.

ā€œI gave that to you?ā€

ā€œYes,ā€ the shopkeeper replies. ā€œYou dropped it off here at the shop.ā€

ā€œI don’t rememberā€¦ā€

ā€œDon’t worry,ā€ the shopkeeper says gently. ā€œIt isn’t for sale. It’s part of SoJourner’s story.ā€

She pauses.

ā€œYou’re welcome to take it back if you’d like.ā€

The helper looks at it again.

ā€œNo,ā€ they reply. ā€œI just… I don’t remember giving it to you.ā€

The shopkeeper nods.

She understands that sometimes we forget the things we leave behind.

Sometimes we forget the people who carried them for us.

Sometimes we forget just how much of our own story is sitting quietly on a shelf somewhere.

Then the shopkeeper turns toward the helper and asks:

ā€œSo… how may I help you?ā€

LossiEleane watches.

Silent.

Curious.

Waiting.

Because she has a feeling…

there is much more to this story than what happens when the door is open. 🌻

SoJourner's Blessing 11am-6pm.

09/01/2026

🌻 10 YEARS OF SOJOURNER’S BLESSING.
6 MONTHS IN OUR NEW HOME.
AND A STORY I HAVEN’T ALWAYS KNOWN HOW TO TELL. 🌻

Today marks six months since SoJourner’s Blessing opened its doors at our new location.

Six months.

It feels like yesterday.

And somehow, it feels like a lifetime ago.

For years, I haven’t talked very much about the first opening of SoJourner’s Blessing.

Not because it wasn’t important.

But because, for a long time, I thought I had failed.

More than 10 years ago, I opened those first doors with plans, ideas, dreams and a vision for what I thought this business was going to become.

I had plans for the business.

Plans for my future.

Plans for what I thought my life was supposed to look like.

And then God had other plans.

He gave me something I never expected.

He made me a mother.

For years, I had been told that having children probably wasn’t going to be part of my story because of my ongoing health struggles.

So when motherhood happened, it wasn’t simply another chapter.

It was a miracle.

And suddenly, the business I had poured so much of myself into had to take a different place in my life.

At the time, I didn’t understand it.

I looked at that first chapter and thought:

I didn’t make it.

I failed.

I couldn’t make the business work.

But now, more than 10 years later, I can look back and see something completely different.

I didn’t fail.

I was redirected.

God wasn’t taking something away from me.

He was giving me a job that would become the most important job I would ever have.

Being a mother.

The plans for SoJourner’s Blessing had to wait.

And they waited.

But they never completely disappeared.

Because sometimes a dream isn’t dead.

Sometimes it is simply growing roots underground while you’re busy living the life you were given.

And over the last 10 years, SoJourner’s Blessing has grown right alongside me.

It has changed names, shapes, locations, ideas, products, displays, hours and direction.

I’ve changed too.

I’ve learned.

I’ve started over.

I’ve let go.

I’ve tried again.

I’ve questioned myself.

I’ve listened.

I’ve prayed.

I’ve cried.

I’ve celebrated.

I’ve wondered what was next.

And eventually, that little business I once thought I had failed at found its way back into my life.

Not necessarily as the business I imagined 10 years ago…

but as something better.

Something with purpose.

Something connected to people.

Something connected to community.

Something that could hold space for local makers, vendors, creativity, conversations, second chances and unexpected treasures.

Something that could become more than a store.

A place to belong.

And that’s what this new location has become over these last six months.

It’s not perfect.

Neither am I.

We’re still changing.

The season is changing.

The shop is changing.

The displays move.

The ideas evolve.

The stories continue.

And sometimes the dust still gathers in the corners while the shopkeeper is busy trying to figure out what needs to come first. šŸ˜‰

Maybe that’s why LossieEleane feels so at home here.

She’s been quietly witnessing all of it.

The opening.

The closing.

The moving.

The rebuilding.

The people who came and went.

The people who stayed.

The things we thought were endings that turned out to be beginnings.

And perhaps that’s the biggest lesson of all.

We don’t always recognize a blessing while we’re standing in the middle of it.

Sometimes we call it a setback.

Sometimes we call it a failure.

Sometimes we wonder why God didn’t follow the plans we made.

And then years later, we look back and realize…

He was writing a much better story.

My first job was never supposed to be building a business.

My first job was becoming a mother.

And that will always be one of the greatest blessings of my life.

SoJourner’s Blessing simply had to wait its turn.

And now, 10 years after those first doors opened…

six months into this newest chapter…

I’m standing inside something I once thought I had lost.

And I finally understand:

It wasn’t lost.

It was growing.

So today I’m celebrating more than six months at 3700 Route 118.

I’m celebrating 10 years of becoming.

10 years of learning that plans can change.

10 years of learning that God can write a different story.

10 years of motherhood.

10 years of growth.

10 years of trying again.

10 years of blessings I didn’t recognize at first.

And six months of a new home where all those pieces finally seem to be finding their place.

To everyone who has walked through these doors, followed along here, supported this crazy journey, bought something, sold something, shared something, prayed, encouraged, questioned, laughed, cried, or simply watched…

thank you.

You have witnessed more than a business.

You’ve witnessed a life changing.

And we’re still writing the story.

🌻 SOJOURNER’S BLESSING IS OPEN TODAY! 🌻
11 AM – 6 PM

Please bear with us as we continue making a LOT of changes here at SoJourner’s Blessing. šŸ’›

The season is changing.
Our hours are changing.
The layout of the shop is changing.
Displays are moving.
Fixtures are finding new homes.
New vendors are slowly becoming part of our community.

And somewhere in the middle of all that change… LossiEleane is watching it all unfold. 🌻

Her story continues as the shop changes around her... reminding us that sometimes a new season doesn’t happen all at once. Sometimes things move slowly, one piece at a time, until suddenly you look around and realize something beautiful is taking shape.

The connection, however, remains the same. ā¤ļø

We are still here.
We are still creating.
We are still welcoming people through our doors.
And we are still building a space rooted in kindness, love, community and belonging.

Our online information... Google, Facebook and other platforms... may not always reflect our newest hours or changes just yet. We are a family first, and our children will always come first.

We are working around school schedules, PTO meetings, sports, appointments and all the things that come with keeping a family moving. We are also caregivers to our parents, so sometimes our plans have to change with circumstances we simply cannot predict.

Our family celebrates many different holidays, cultures, traditions, religions and nationalities, and we want our events and our space to reflect that beautifully. šŸŒŽā¤ļø

The world is changing, and we’re making room for the unknown while trying to create something meaningful in the middle of it all.

So, please be patient with us.
Please be kind.
And if you walk through our doors while things look a little chaotic… look a little closer.

You might just see the beauty in the becoming.

And maybe has a little something to teach us about that, too. 🌻

Come see what is changing. Come meet our new vendors. Come follow LossiEleane’s story. Come be part of ours.

🌻 LossieEleane 🌻witnessed something today… šŸ‘€

A shirt worn by a very mysterious lady.

A clue hiding in plain sight.

You might find her along 415, on the way to the Lake, on the left-hand side… but you’ll have to be paying attention.

When the OPEN flag is flying, the shop door will be unlocked, and the treasures inside are waiting to be discovered.

Follow the signs.
Watch the numbers.
Read between the lines.

Because the clue is on the shirt. šŸ‘•šŸ”Ž

The stories may change.
The signs may move.
The numbers may change.

But one thing seems to remain the same…

The traveling woman carries the key.

What that key unlocks—or whether it unlocks something at all—is up to interpretation.

LossieEleane is watching.

And so are we.

Come be part of the story at SoJourner’s Blessing.

Sometimes you find a treasure.
Sometimes the treasure finds you. ✨

🌻 The Story Continues: Blessing Erin

As Lossieleane continues to witness the changing seasons inside Sojourner’s Blessing, she is also beginning to understand something about the heart of this little shop…

The heart of it has always been creativity.

And creativity has roots.

For more than 30 years, Erin Miner Murray been one of those roots in the Shopkeeper’s life... a fellow church member, teacher, mentor, and someone whose gentle reminders have stayed long after the moment they were spoken.

Her voice still seems to echo through the creative corners of the shop:

Take your time.

It doesn’t have to get finished all at once.

Don’t worry. You can always add to it later.

If you make a mistake, you can make it into something else.

Just start with one brush stroke.

Those words have become more than memories. They have become part of the way Sojourner’s Blessing unfolds.

Every little detail. Every imperfect creation. Every idea that begins before we know what it will become.

Lossieleane witnesses many things, but she is beginning to understand that sometimes the things we create are carrying pieces of the people who helped us learn how to create in the first place.

Right now, Erin is walking through a difficult season of life, and Sojourner’s Blessing would like to help bless her in return.

If Erin has ever encouraged you, taught you, mentored you, inspired your creativity, or simply made a difference in your life, we invite you to join us.

Questions? Message us.

As the shop continues to unfold, we remember the days when joy came simply from getting started.

Sometimes all it takes is one brush stroke.

One small act of kindness.

One person remembering another.

Let’s bless Erin the way she has blessed so many people with her gifts. 🌻
