🌿✨ HERB OF THE WEEK: LEMON BALM ✨🌿
Known as the “Herb of Calm,” Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) has been treasured for centuries for its gentle ability to support both the body and the mind.
A member of the mint family, lemon balm offers a refreshing citrus aroma and has long been used in traditional herbalism to promote relaxation without causing drowsiness.
🌿 Traditionally, lemon balm has been used to support:
💚 A calm and balanced nervous system
😴 Restful, restorative sleep
🧠 Mental clarity and focus
🌿 Healthy digestion and relief from occasional bloating
❤️ Emotional wellness during times of stress
🦋 Hormone balance by helping the body better manage everyday stress
One of the reasons I love lemon balm is that it reminds us slowing down is just as important as staying busy. Whether enjoyed as a warm cup of tea, a tincture, or infused into herbal preparations, it’s one of my favorite herbs for creating moments of calm in a hectic world.
🌙 Fun Fact:
The botanical name Melissa comes from the Greek word for “honeybee.” Bees absolutely love lemon balm, making it a wonderful addition to pollinator gardens!
💬 Question of the Week:
How do you enjoy lemon balm—tea, tincture, fresh from the garden, or another way? I’d love to hear your favorite use!
