I raised my vendor tables about 4" years ago, and I’ve been making my tablecloths longer to match ever since.
We start with about 6" of heavy upholstery fabric, which gives us enough to overlap and attach it to the original tablecloth and still hem the bottom edge. The finished result adds about 4" of length. We also zig-zag the raw edges before sewing so they don’t fray.
I like using a heavier, darker, variegated upholstery fabric at the bottom because it adds a little weight AND is much more forgiving when you’re dealing with dirt, mud and wet grass at outdoor events.
And if you’re like me and can run a sewing machine, but have friends who are much better at it… this might be a good time to recruit one. 😂
