Hello! Just checking in.

Hope you all are enjoying your summer. Mine sure has been busy! Since I last posted on the larger donor board, I have gone to Sacramento to take a class by Carol Shelkin. I am still working on the piece as this is a technique my brain is not use to but am enjoying the process and all the emotions that come with it!
This next week I will be in San Francisco and then upon my return home, my eldest son will be visiting with his fiance for a week. As soon as they go home, my family will be headed to our annual festival for 3 days. I am really looking forward to the downtime.

School will be starting soon after that. For those of you who do not know, I home school my son, who will be starting high school. He will also be attending our local college and I am very overwhelmed with all this entails. I am hoping to to be able to create something while at the festival. I have no idea what though! Then in Sept is the ceremony for the donor board which I will be sure to post. In a month or two with things in my schedule start to fall into place, I will be asking all of you to think of a new name for my page. I have given up my business licence and I legally don't own the name Mosaic Milieu. I will give you all some ideas of where I live, who I am, along with some key words, to see what you all come up with. I have a couple ideas of my own but would love to see what you all can come up with.

Well, that is all for now. Stay cool for those of you in our very hot areas.

Well the day finally came! I dropped off my four year project. It didn't take four years to make but it was in my care for that long and this morning I was able to drop it off at La Vida Charter School located in Willits, CA on the Ridgewood Ranch. This is the home of Seabiscuit the famous racehorse. A few years earlier, Lorri from a Ukiah, CA came and built a cob bench which I was able to assist in. (Photos if the cob bench are located in the photos section on this page.) This is a donor board that will hang behind the bench. There will be a dedication ceremony that will be held mid September. This is a dedication to George and Ella Butler. The bench and mosaic are located in the Butler Orchard. I added photos of the plaques of some personal friends and the book. It was sad to let it go but at the same time I'm glad I now have the space to start creating other mosaic pieces.

Not much going on over here, at the same time, there's a ton of stuff going on over here!! Lol. I've been waiting for the weather to warm up, usually by this time we are seeing temps in the low 70's which is nice and makes for creative mosaic making but with it still snowing, glues don't like these temps much. Especially, when your studio is your garage!

I have been doing some jewelry since they are small enough that the mess can be confined to one end of the dining table, until the temps rise and I can get back out into the studio. Only a couple are glued down and NONE are grouted or resined. In the meantime, here is what I am dealing with!
Keep Warm Everyone!!☀️

I am happy to announce I have finally made arrangements for the Butler Orchard donation wall to be picked up at the end of July! That's the donation wall that will go up on Seabiscuits Ranch and the one I've been working on for over 3.5 years!!!! The one that will go behind the cob bench that Lori and I built. At which point I will be able to focus on my Doctors Without Borders project and some private commissions. I am soooo excited to be able to rearrange my studio and start over in my art world. There will be another rebirth when I build my dream studio away from my home (currently, I occupy our two car garage and even at that, I am only a partial occupant.) but it feels good to be able to focus on other things now, I am ready!! I will post pictures at the end of the month when it is about to be picked up. Because this piece is large and heavy (not with mosaics, as it only has a less than 3" frame that is mosaicked) and I will wait for other people to come get it and maneuver it so I can photograph it.

Adriana Castro! Deserving to be said in my best Hispanic accent because I can! Do you love snoopy or Charlie Brown?
I noticed you liked my snoopy mosaic and my snoopy/Charlie Brown pics at the Charles Shultz museum/snoopy ice Areana.
