✨ How Coastal Designs by Brenda Began… ✨
Five years ago, I found myself with six weeks off before starting a new job. By week two, I was already bored out of my mind, so I decided to find a hobby.
First, I tried making custom cups. They were fun, but they took way more time than I wanted to spend. Next came clay earrings… and let’s just say they weren’t really my thing either.
Then I discovered UV resin.
I started making all kinds of random earrings just to learn. One day I came across beach-inspired jewelry, but I noticed they weren’t using real sand or real shells. That’s when I thought…
“I can do that… and make it even more personal.”
So I headed to the beach I love, collected real sand and shells, and started creating jewelry that carries a little piece of the coast with it.
Fast forward five years, and Coastal Designs by Brenda has grown into so much more than I ever imagined. My jewelry has evolved right along with me. What started with earrings has grown into necklaces, bracelets, and even handcrafted gel candles.
The best part isn’t just creating—it’s meeting all of you at markets and festivals, hearing your stories, answering your questions, and seeing your excitement when you realize there’s real beach sand and shells in my pieces.
I still work full-time, but this little business has become a dream that’s bigger than jewelry. My hope is that one day it will allow me to spend my time traveling to markets, meeting amazing people, and creating beautiful things full-time.
