🏈 INDIAN NATION, IT’S TIME TO SHOW UP! 🖤💛

Join us TONIGHT at 6 p.m. at the Elmore County Courthouse for the Downtown Pep Rally as we come together to celebrate our Wetumpka Indians!

Come out and enjoy performances from WHS Cheer, Dance, and the Pride of the Tribe Band, along with recognition of our middle school and youth football and cheer teams.

Then tomorrow night, the Indians take the field for their FIRST HOME GAME of the season! Let’s carry that hometown pride into the stadium and PACK THE STANDS in black and gold! 🏈

Tonight, we rally. Tomorrow, we cheer them on to victory!

🐾 We had a paws-itively amazing time at Preschool Storytime today! 🐾
Our library friends learned all about the incredible ways dogs help us every day. We also read about a very silly dog named Chip, who taught us some big "life lessons" about sharing, responsibility, and keeping our special toys safe! 🧸🐶
We wrapped up our fun morning by making our very own puppy craft. Check out the photos below to see the adorable pups our little readers created.🥰

Join us for a paws-itively fun Preschool Storytime tomorrow, Friday, August 28th at 10:00 AM!
This week, we are celebrating man's best friend: DOGS! 🐶❤️ Bring your preschoolers by for a morning packed with stories,songs and a craft.
🐾 Special addition: Feel free to bring along your favorite stuffed dog or a picture of your family pup to share with the group!

Coming to the Elmore County Museum!

We are excited to announce that the Smithsonian is coming to the Elmore County Museum!

This fall, the museum will host Americans, a traveling exhibition developed by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian and brought to Alabama by the Alabama Humanities Alliance.

The exhibition explores the many ways Native Americans are woven into the history, culture, and identity of the United States while inviting visitors to take a closer look at familiar stories including Thanksgiving, Pocahontas, the Trail of Tears, and the Battle of the Little Bighorn.

Wetumpka, AL is one of only five stops across the state, with Americans on display at the museum from Nov. 16 through Dec. 18, 2026.

We are also planning local programs, displays, and presentations that will help connect the national exhibition to the rich Native American history of Elmore County and the surrounding region. More details will be shared as we get closer to opening.
