I haven't made one of these in a while. This was born at the Saukville, Wisconsin Crossroads Rendezvous in the 90's. At the time I made a candle holder that had a box of stick matches in the box (hence , the Matchbox Candleholder) with an oval opening in the side for the striker. Not from the Fur Trade era.

This lady asked if I could add a chimney as the Matchboz did not come with one. She also asked if I could make it a little bigger so the instead of the box of matches, I could put in a drawer that would hold some 6-inch candles and maybe a small box of matches or better yet a striker, flint and char cloth.

Her name was Donna. Hence the Donna's Candleholder.
