At this point, nobody’s doing their best work. We’re all just moving the mouse occasionally so the computer knows we’re still alive.

Fortunately, The Treehouse Studio requires considerably less effort.

We’re open today 11–6 with handmade jewelry, original art, custom leatherwork, wood-burned signs, and plenty of things you didn’t know you needed until you saw them.

And Inside the Treehouse is coming soon, our new local magazine featuring the artists, businesses, places, and people around Waterford that are actually worth knowing.

Stop in, wander around, and enjoy a little local creativity.

Your Friday productivity was already questionable anyway.

SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST WORTH KNOWING.

We’re working on a new section for Inside the Treehouse called Worth Knowing, and we’re looking for someone to feature.

Not necessarily someone with a business.
Not someone famous.
Not someone with a thousand followers.

Just a good person with a story worth telling.

Maybe it’s someone who quietly helps others. Someone who’s overcome a lot. A volunteer who never asks for recognition. A teacher, coach, neighbor, artist, veteran, young person, or just somebody who makes this little corner of the world a little better.

You probably already know someone.

Tell us who they are in the comments and, more importantly, tell us WHY they’re worth knowing.

We may choose one of your nominations to be featured in an upcoming issue of Inside the Treehouse.

Sometimes the best stories aren’t about the loudest people.

We’re open today from 11–6.

Why should you stop in?

Excellent question.

We have handmade jewelry.
Original art.
One-of-a-kind creations.
And absolutely no self-checkout machine yelling “UNEXPECTED ITEM IN BAGGING AREA.”

Just two artists trying to make cool stuff and somehow pay the electric bill.

Vanessa has been making new jewelry.

I’ve been working on art and Inside the Treehouse Magazine, because at some point I apparently decided having hobbies wasn’t stressful enough and started assigning myself deadlines.

So take a ride to Waterford, stop into the Treehouse and see what you find.

Buy something beautiful.

Buy something weird.

Buy something for somebody else and then decide you’re keeping it.

We don’t judge.

Actually, we might.

But we’ll wait until you leave.

FRIDAY AT THE TREEHOUSE 🌳

There’s a lot happening around here lately.

Vanessa’s making new jewelry.
I’m working on paintings.
We’re putting together the first issue of Inside the Treehouse Magazine.
More local stories and interviews are coming.

And somewhere in between all of that, we apparently decided we should also run an actual store.

Poor planning, really.

So if you’re wandering around Waterford today, stop in, look around, see what we’ve been making, and maybe hang out for a minute.

No purchase required. We’re perfectly capable of talking your ear off for free.

WE’RE OPEN TODAY • 11–6

The Treehouse is open.

The lights are on.
The door is unlocked.
Vanessa made cool stuff.

I mostly stayed out of the way.

So really, everything is going according to plan.

Stop in and check out Vanessa’s earrings, the artwork, handmade things, and all the other stuff we’ve somehow managed to fit inside a shop that continues to ignore the basic laws of available space.

AND…

Inside the Treehouse Magazine is coming soon.

Yep. A magazine.

Because apparently having a shop, making YouTube videos, painting, interviewing people, and working a regular job left me dangerously close to having free time.

Can’t have that.

It’ll be filled with local artists, businesses, interesting people, places around home, and stories actually worth reading.

No celebrity gossip.

Unless somebody at Momma J’s gets caught leaving Waterford Pizza with somebody from WECAN.

Then journalistic integrity requires that we investigate.

Against all odds.
Despite the economy.
Despite the weather doing whatever Pennsylvania weather feels like doing.
Despite the fact that online shopping lets you buy pants while sitting on the toilet.

The Treehouse Studio is OPEN.

We have handmade earrings.
We have art.
We have cool stuff you absolutely do not need but will suddenly decide you need after looking at it for 14 seconds.

Vanessa has made things.

I have moved those things around the store and called it “merchandising.”

Together, we are basically a retail empire.

So come to Waterford and stop in.

Buy something.
Browse.
Stand there and say, “Oh, this is cute.”

We accept all three.

It’s Saturday.

You could mow the lawn.

You could clean the garage.

You could finally deal with that one project you’ve been walking past for six months pretending you don’t see.

Or…

You could come to The Treehouse.

We have handmade jewelry, original art, locally made stuff, and absolutely no expectation that you accomplish anything productive while you’re here.

Come in and say, “I’m just looking.”

We know.

Everybody is “just looking” until they find something they like.

Then suddenly they’re holding it, checking the price, putting it down, picking it back up, walking away, coming back, and performing advanced mathematics over a purchase that costs less than dinner at Applebee’s.

Meanwhile, there’s a $900 phone in their pocket.

Human beings are magnificent.

It’s Friday, people.

You made it through another week of emails, passwords you forgot, people driving 12 mph under the speed limit, and self-checkouts asking if you’d like to donate money after making you do an employee’s job.

You deserve a little Treehouse.

We’ve got original art.
We’ve got Vanessa Lee’s handmade clay jewelry.
We’ve got locally made stuff.
We’ve got things you absolutely do not need…

…which, historically, are the best things to buy.

And while you’re here, you can tell us you’ve been meaning to stop in for six months.
