Join us for Downtown Art Walk tonight when we'll be featuring Debbie Mitchell of Chocowinity! She is a talented mixed-media artist exploring everything from plaster and reclaimed wood to watercolor, pastels, and collage.

Her journey into wire art began in 2015 after a trip to Asheville, where she was inspired by handcrafted wire trees. That same year, she created her very first piece as a special gift for her son.

Inspired by the beauty of bonsai, Debbie’s wire sculptures capture flowing, windswept forms and intricate detail. Since 2017, her work has been featured in regional art shows, earning multiple awards and recognition, as well as appearances in the Washington Daily News.

Using materials like vases, stones, bonsai pots, and wood, Debbie creates unique, nature-inspired pieces that blend structure with artistic movement.
