Art All Night DC Art All Night is back Saturday, September 12th from 5:30 to 10:30PM, and we’re excited to welcome Stephen Gibson to The Phoenix for the evening ✨

DC Native, Stephen Gibson is the author of a collection of poetry, City of Midnight Skies, and coeditor of the erratically published magazine, Mobile City that started in the 1990s as a messenger zine. His poems and drawings have appeared in places like the Boston Review, Poetry Northwest, Ploughshares, and Chain and his artwork is part of Transformer Gallery’s FlatFile collection. He lives and works in Washington, DC, the city where he was born.

There’s something about the end of summer that makes us want to linger a little longer. Gathering chanterelles from the woods, bringing wildflowers to the table, slipping out onto the water with the dogs, small rituals that make a season feel full.

And then, almost imperceptibly, the days begin to shift. The light changes, the mornings feel a little crisper, and we find ourselves turning back toward familiar routines.

Before we do, we’re savoring these last days of summer, the simple pleasures, the time outside, and the beauty of staying awhile. 🧡
