I must apologize for my long absence - I've been terribly busy in the human world for the past few months. I moved not once, but twice in the span of a single month. First I moved into a new home (a house! with a dishwasher! and laundry! and bountiful parking!) with my two best friends. Then a month later I packed up again and transplanted to Portland OR, where I'll be studying this Spring. I've found a wonderful school that offers certificate programs in interior design, something I've been interested in for several years. I've finally taken the plunge and I am SO happy to be starting a new chapter. Those of you who know me know that for the past 6 years, I've focused primarily on dance, working as a belly dance teacher and performer. Although I love belly dance, I've started to feel isolated, uninspired, and just tired. As a teacher, I was creating 3-5 group student choreographies every 3 months, and I found myself creatively worn out. I barely had energy to devote to my own dance practice, and my love for the art was suffering because of it. Pursuing a new career path is an effort to explore the world through new eyes, to meet new people, improve myself, and hopefully discover a path that will allow me to return to dance at perhaps a reduced level, but with more love and renewed curiosity. So, I now find myself in the beautiful city of Portland, in a magical house that I'm subletting (owned by an interior designer - go figure). The gorgeous weather and the new environment is invigorating, and, I must say, I think I'm falling in love with Portland a bit. Faeries definitely live here. So here are a few images of my new whimsical home for the season, including the delightful backyard (yes, that's a fig tree!). In the meantime, my Etsy shop is in vacation mode, as I am not producing new work and had to leave behind my workshop and won't be able to send out new orders. But if you see something you like and don't mind waiting until late July just shoot me a message and I can reserve it! For those of you who read this far, thank you for reading
