For many in the Fashion/Beauty industry, VOGUE magazine is the standard and and has inspired many in the field. I have ALWAYS declared Essence Magazine as the PINNACLE for me. In a world and industry that has not been kind to BLACK women, ESSENCE Magazine is the celebration of Black women that look like my grandmother Delores Powell Howard, my mother Donna Howard, and the many beautiful black women who have nurtured, influenced and empowered my life insurmountable ways. Essence showcases the beauty and aura of black women as I see them.

If you know me, then you know when I served as the Fashion Beauty Editor & Editor at Large for Swerv Magazine I would always say "I see us as the GAY ESSENCE". To me, ESSENCE IS THE EPITOME OF BEAUTY, SOPHISTICATION, GLAMOUR aka GROWN & SEXY ...AND simultaneously remained FULL OF SUBSTANCE catering to the essence of black women and the black cummunity as a whole!!! When you change the life of a black woman you change her family, ultimately changing a community and the world.
I am so happy to see this DOCU-SERIES on ESSENCE Magazine!

My dream has always been and still is to see my name printed on the pages of this ICONIC magazine called ESSENCE and I know it will one day!

BRAVO TO ESSENCE MAGAZINE ... A BEACON OF LIGHT FOR BLACK LIFE!! 👏 👏 👏 👏

This morning when the sun rose and as I embark on my 44th year of life I am reminded that I AM STILL HERE! ... And it's by the grace of GOD!

This year for my BORN DAY I will be blessinging someone with a GIFT of a 2 look MAKE OVER photoshoot. Hair, MakeUp, Styling and Photos all by ME, Yardenoir.com!

The most exciting thing is, lit will be a year long thing. The 4th of every month, I will drop the Make Over photo and announce who the next winner is.

I am SUPER EXCITED to announce the first winner on my Born Day, this Wednesday, JANUARY 4, 2023!!

If there is a person you know who is deserving of a makeover, a person who has survived amazing odds or a community advocate that you would like to see gifted THE NOIR EXPERIENCE submit their name by telling us why they deserve this makeover and a current photo of them. Me and my team will review submissions and choose a recipient. DEADLINE for next month's nominee submissions is Janauary 15, 2023.

Requirements:
- Person has to be over 21
- Person has to be in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area
- Person has to sign photo/video release/ waiver for both behind the scenes footage and the release of the makeover image
