Hello to all of my new and old followers. And there have been quite a few of you lately. About two thousand in the past week, actually. So it feels like a good time to introduce myself.

My name is Tanya. I don’t just create fairy ear cuffs with Angelina film, although those tend to catch the most attention. I also make more versatile sterling silver jewelry, with references to fantasy and different sides of alternative culture.

I started as a handmade artist, and silver ear cuffs were originally my husband Stepan’s idea. We met at a craft fair, both working with ear cuffs - that’s how our small family brand Tanny Bunny started.

And since I’m very much the designer in the family, creating new jewelry designs naturally became my responsibility. At this point, it’s my main work. I truly love creating items that people can wear on a daily basis and feel good about.

As for the handmade fairy ear cuffs, those have become more of an art practice for me. I create new ones only when inspiration hits, and don’t limit myself. They’re still available if you feel drawn to them though.

My most complex design is now all over Temu!

I spent a whole year redrawing this wolf ear cuff, refining every detail to perfection. Creating the 3D model alone took about 30 hours! I hired a professional jewelry photographer to capture high-quality photos.

Sadly, the design never became very popular on Etsy – probably because of the price. After all, it’s made of 10 grams of sterling silver and requires a rather complex jewelry-making process.

But now I’m seeing cheap fakes all over marketplaces using my own photos! The same photos I paid for are now compromised and misused.

And now I’m afraid to list this piece in my new Etsy shop. First, I might get banned for so-called “reselling from China.” Second, even if I don’t, people will likely assume it’s not handmade.

It’s just not fair.

Stealing someone’s design is bad enough. But using the original artist’s photos to sell knockoffs on Temu and AliExpress is pure evil.

I’m curious — what’s your view on this as a customer?
