Diamond and Gemstone Jewelry Since 2005

I just celebrated my 13 year anniversary in business on August 1st. I started this business with $3000 in seed money and some very used display cases. That first location was about 200 square foot. Not knowing how to run a business, it started out being named A Bit of Everything. Named that because I carried not only jewelry, but some affordable home decor and knicky-knacks. Needless to say, my 200 square foot location was rather full. The business was renamed to The Gold Exchange & Repair in 2008, and moved to a larger location. I carried only fine jewelry, with only GENUINE diamonds and gemstones. I wanted the name to represent not only the jewelry sales, but also that repairs and custom jewelry could be done. I bought estate jewelry from my customers and refurbished it to like new to be resold. Currently, I’m swinging the store to another direction. I’ve developed some strong relationships with QUALITY vendors, to enable sales of fine diamond and gemstone jewelry to my customers on a wholesale price level. I’ve discovered that the big box brand jewelers were selling the same thing (sometimes even from the same vendors) with a markup of up to 10X. Now it’s just a matter of building trust with a national audience instead of just a local market. Those in the Missouri area have trusted me since 2005, I hope you will too.
