It was a sad day at the happy chick farm and the only downside of being a chicken owner. One of our ladies, Stevie Chicks, is no longer with us. 🥺 We will be spending the weekend doing some extra predator proofing on their coop and enclosure to ensure the other girls' safety. RIP Stevie

We're raking in the butt nuggets! Here's a great picture to show you the work my Happy Chicks have been putting in!
Wednesday and Stevie Chicks put out the most eggs which are olive green. Nugget and Jellybean produce a dark olive green/brown with Speckles. Princess Fluffy Butt has already produced 3 eggs so far, which are a light blue-green.

Saturday random chicken facts!
I love all my sweet chicken babies, but my Welsummer mixed breed chicks produce my favorite eggs! Welsummers are known for their distinctive speckles! Typically, full bred Welsummers produce a Terra Cotta brown egg with dark speckles. I am guessing my Welsummers are mixed with a blue egg layer, (I'm guessing a Legbar due to their cute little mohawks). But long story short, brown egg layers mixed with blue egg layers produce green egg layers!
