This simple and understated 9k gold intaglio ring has a tiny beehive carved into a banded agate shield on a carnelian stone. We absolutely love the details of the beehive. It has a teeny tiny door at its base with bees a-buzzin’ all around it. The tiny bee carvings are so delicate that they can be seen best under a loop or when the light reflects off of the agate. The oval-shape orange carnelian highlights the beehive and makes the light-colored agate pop. We believe this is a freemason ring, as beehives are an important symbol in freemasonry, and this specific beehive, with its tiny door, is seen often in freemason imagery. It represents industry, harmony, and cooperation within the collective. This is the perfect piece for a lover or keeper of bees, or for someone who is a team player with a benevolent and philanthropic heart akin to that of a freemason.

The whistle charms serves as both an iconic piece of jewelry and also a useful call to action. This 18k gold version has a larger size and a substantial, loud whistle. It has a great design when looked at in profile, with a blocky shape, sharp curves, and geometric angularity. We love the large round bail, which has sharp edges and a shape that echos the cylinder form of the whistle.

Housed in a custom-made 14k gold setting, the pendant features a sterling silver Tetradrachm coin that dates to 129-125 B.C. The front of the coin features the profile of Ancient Greek ruler Demetrios II Nikator, who ruled the Seleucid Empire from 145 - 138 B.C., and then again from 129 - 125 B.C. His two reigns were separated by years of captivity in Parthia, thus, there are two different coins that contain his profile. The earliest coin features the image of a younger man with a boyish face and short hair; the second coin (as seen in this pendant) bears the image of an older man with a Parthinian hairstyle and beard, as well as a more weathered face, evidence of Demetrios’ years of imprisonment. Demetrios continued to bravely fight for what remained of the Seleucid Kingdom—but was betrayed by his wife Cleopatra Thea and captured near Tyre. The story of Demetrios is so intriguing that an opera libretto was written about him in 1731 by Pietro Metastasio.

One of Tiffany & Co.’s top designers, Jean Michel Schlumberger was a French designer renown for his use of colorful enamel and sculptural pieces. This 18k gold band is a rare Schlumberger design, reminiscent of belt loops. The band has a beautiful royal blue enamel, translucent enough to reveal the pretty visual texture of the gold beneath it. Seven evenly spaced gold loops are raised above the band. When viewed from straight on, the loops are rhythmic and intriguing; when viewed from the side, the loops extend and create a delicate use of negative space. The overall design is very sculptural—almost futuristic—with an unusual je ne sais quoi that we love. Circa 1960’s.

While this Elsa Peretti iconic bracelet has been made by Tiff/any & Co. for decades, this is one of the earlier iterations of the piece, made in Spain circa the 1980’s. The simple design consists of elongated loops with rounded corners, and an oversized charm with a rectangular shovel form. The sculptural modernist charm is the perfect size to hold with your thumb, as its indented surface is approximately thumbprint size—a tactile design element seen often in Elsa Peretti’s work. This particular charm has a lot of weight to it, which feels luxurious to wear. The narrow elongated links make an elegant balance to the rounded corners of the charm. The bracelet connects with a beautiful safety clasp that contains Elsa Peretti’s signature.

This 18k rose gold flip ring is the iconic design by Nina Runsdorf that prompted her to start her jewelry brand in 2005. It features a large, 2.3 carat teardrop-shaped garnet that has the ability to flip back and forth, bringing a kinetic movement that is unique to see in a ring. The garnet is bezel set in an 18k gold border with delicate micro-pave diamonds on both sides of the bezel and around the edge. It is attached to the ring with a hinged element that allows for movement. The high level micro-pave work continues around the ring’s simple gold band, covering 3/4 of the band.

Rock crystal with a negative crystal is formed when quartz grows around a fluid or gas and mimicking its own crystal structure within the gem, thus creating unique inclusions that often present as smaller crystals, or as voids and cavities within the larger stone. We were thrilled to get a hold of one of Tom Munsteiner’s award-winning cut stones and wanted to create a necklace that would highlight the beauty of this incredible rock crystal. Have you ever heard of a Negative Crystal Inclusion before?

This early Victorian star link chain is a rare, hard-to-find treasure. Rendered in 10k gold, the chain consists of square links, each with a star punched into all four sides. The links lock into each other, creating a flexible snakelike chain with fluid movement. The chain has a long length and fits over the head, culminating in a dog clip that is perfect for clipping charms into the chain. The star links are intricate and unique, while the dog clip allows for versatility. This is a special piece and an interesting part of history and highlights the versatility in chain variations.

The chain measures 27.5”. Each box-shaped link measures 2.10 mm on all sides. The dog clip measures 7/8” long and 5/16” at its widest point. The chain weighs 13.15 grams. The chain tests as 10k gold and the dog clip is marked as 9k gold
