I thought about not posting this today and then thought better of it. I’m appalled and outraged by what is happening in our country currently (and for so long). I don’t post political things here much not because I’m afraid to but because I have complicated feelings about the kind of difference it does or does not make. AND we all need spaces where we can step away from the outrage now and then. But this, what happened in Minneapolis, what just happened in Portland, is f✨cking scary and can’t be ignored. I just gave a big sigh, thinking of how this post though will probably get buried and seen by few folks, so maybe if I use a pretty photo of myself - the algorithm likes that! - more folks will see it? Who knows. I’m very disenchanted by social media these days and continue to be unsure of its usefulness in my life. But maybe unabashed vulnerability and thoughts are the way to go? And don’t get me wrong, there’s been a giant heaping of sh*t that has happened in this country in the last year. My posting something now does not signal that anything before this or anything that may come is more or less tragic.
