This post by our fellow Senior Move Management company Golden Bridges, Inc. is spot on! For many of our clients, making decisions about “the stuff” is their biggest worry. We’ve helped slay a whole lot of “monsters” too - call us if you’d like help tackling yours!
She called it the monster.
Not the house. Not the move. The pile of a lifetime that had built up in the closets, the attic, the boxes nobody had opened since her parents packed them. Jane didn't need a move. She needed someone willing to walk into that pile with her and start pulling it apart, one drawer at a time.
She thought about doing it herself first. Most people do. A free weekend here, a rainy Saturday there, chip away until it's done. Except it never gets chipped away. The pile just waits, the same size it was the year before, until it starts to feel less like a project and more like a wall.
When she called Golden Bridges, what she needed was someone to sit with decades of the collective years, the things her family had kept and passed down and forgotten they had, and help her decide what still belonged in her life.
It took a couple of days. Not months. Not the years she'd spent avoiding it. Two days of someone working alongside her, room by room, gentle with what mattered and quick about what didn't.
The monster is gone now. What's left is just her house.
If there's a version of the monster living in your closets right now, what would two days of help actually be worth to you?
