Daisy Chains

Daisy Chains Small business specializing in handcrafted, bespoke chainmaille jewerly Daisy Chains is a Colorado based business selling handcrafted chainmaille jewelry.

I've been making chainmaille for over four years now and selling for a bit over two. A year ago, I moved from Tulsa to Crested Butte, Colorado, and, six months in, I made another move to Gunnison. Covid has thrown a wrench into the works, as it has for many people, but, with the help of family and friends, I'm still here making chainmaille.

Hey all, long time no post, hope y’all haven’t forgotten about me. Been a rough year or so for me. Without wasting time on too many details, I’ve been in one really bad wreck and two others (all within about 7 months), and no they weren’t my fault. I had to return back to Tulsa to take care of my grandparents, and that’s been hell. I’ve got more drama than I can manage right now. It’s tough, enough said.

One benefit of being back in Tulsa is being close to the Cherokee Nation again. I’ve been missing out on many events both professionally and personally, so it’s nice being able to get back in touch. That being said, I’m pleased to present my two entries for the Cherokee National Holiday Art Show!

First up is Water Spider carrying the First Flame. Her web is stainless steel, and her body is black and red anodized aluminum with copper and bronze accents and blue czech glass eyes. Her flame is a very unique piece of dichroic glass I picked up at a local bead shop.

Next is In Spite of Steel. It’s stainless steel, copper, and bronze. For the beaded portions, the small is amber, red coral, lapis lazuli, buffalo bone, and blue goldstone. For the longer band, we have amber, red coral, pyrite, magnetized hematite, and blue goldstone. If you’re curious about the symbolism, well, you might just have to come to the art show ;)

Anyway, it’s good to be back in some capacity, though it’s hard to find time between caretaking and everything else. For those interested in checking out the art show, it’ll be at the Chota Conference Center (rooms 1 & 6) in the Cherokee Casino Tahlequah.
