You can usually feel platinum before you even know it’s platinum! 💍

I had this platinum wedding set in for appraisals recently, and platinum has a few things that make it pretty unique:

• It’s heavier than it looks — pick up a platinum ring and you’ll notice!
• It’s naturally white, so that color isn’t a coating or plating. That’s the color it is when it comes out of the ground!
• It actually changes as you wear it, developing a soft gray finish called a patina.
• And unlike many metals, when platinum gets scratched, the metal tends to move rather than wear away. So, it’s very malleable.

So those little scratches and that softer finish? That’s not necessarily a bad thing — that’s just how platinum wears over time.

The diamond in this ring came from my client’s fiancée’s mother’s first wedding ring, while the gold was created from both her mother’s and grandmother’s rings. Three generations, beautifully brought together into one very special piece.

Every piece has a story. This beautiful vintage ring recently came across my desk after being purchased in a little shop during a mother-daughter trip to Scotland. This gorgeous marquise came across my desk recently, and she definitely deserved a moment ✨💍

But the part that really gets me - Her owner drove all the way from Hanna, Oklahoma to Tulsa — roughly 115 miles (almost 2 hours each way!) — just to have it appraised. That’s a serious vote of confidence, and I never take that lightly. ❤️
