Lila Clare Jewelry is artisan handmade jewelry by me, Clare Johnston. I grew up in the mountains of North Georgia and was a bit of a free-spirited mountain child. The countless hours I spent exploring the forest around our home firmly ingrained a love of and respect for nature. As an adult, I pursued a career in social work. I have my Master of Social Work degree and worked predominately in sexual

violence prevention and teen pregnancy prevention. I care deeply about giving women and girls a voice. Although I no longer make this my work, I look to give by incorporating philanthropy into my jewelry business and hope that the women who wear my jewelry feel special and celebrated. In 2010, I moved to Tucson, AZ to take silversmithing classes and start my handmade jewelry business. I was drawn to the desert for the striking landscape, warmth and sun. My love of nature continues and translates into jewelry design. I handmake sterling silver, gold and gemstone jewelry that interprets nature in graceful and elegant forms. I am committed to making eco-conscious handmade jewelry. Look for the green flower to indicate pieces made with recycled sterling silver. "Lila" is Sanskrit for experiencing the universe as arising from love, play and creative adventures. For me, making jewelry is this dance of love - thus Lila Clare was born. I hope you enjoy viewing and wearing my work as much as I enjoy creating it.

I’m excited for my first fall art festival this weekend! I’ll be at the Harlow Gardens Holiday Marketplace, Saturday 11/8 and Sunday 11/9. Harlow Gardens is a lovely family-owned nursery in here in Tucson and I think this show is the best kept secret in town!

I’ll be debuting new, dainty silver leaf pieces this weekend. These designs won’t be available online until 2026, so this weekend is the perfect chance to get a sneak peek. Here are a few silver and tourmaline rings I’ll have with me!
