Founded in 2015, Sawtooth Jewelry Studio is an artist owned metalsmithing workshop located in downtown Troy’s 5th Ave historic district. We offer classes in jewelry fabrication, open bench rentals and wedding band workshops for couples. Students work in a safe, professionally equipped studio for metalsmithing to learn and practice their craft. The studio has four student bench seats, each outfitte
d with its own flex shaft and an array of pliers, files, hammers and many other shared hand tools. There are two ventilated soldering stations with both acetylene and oxy-propane torches, as well as several cleaning and polishing machines. Owner and Instructor Maria Levin is a trade school trained jeweler who has spent the last 5 years of her 12 year career as a faculty member in the metals department at the Arts Center of the Capital Region. In teaching her craft, Maria shares the joy of making with others and hopes to bring together students in a creative and supportive studio environment.
