Thought I should share some information about Lab-Grown Diamonds to dispel some of the misinformation going around about them. In 2018 the FTC ruled they were real diamonds.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

Chemical and Physical Properties:

Lab-grown diamonds have the same chemical and physical properties as natural diamonds, meaning they are equally hard, have the same refractive index, and exhibit the same brilliance.

Optical Properties:

They also have the same optical properties, meaning they look identical under a microscope and in the light.

Grading:

Lab-grown diamonds are graded by the same gemological institutes as natural diamonds, using the same 4 Cs (cut, clarity, color, and carat weight).

Different Origin:

The main difference between lab-grown and mined diamonds is their origin. Lab-grown diamonds are created in a laboratory under controlled conditions, while mined diamonds are extracted from the Earth.

Faster Creation:

The lab-grown process is much faster than natural diamond formation, taking only a few months instead of millions of years.

Ethical Considerations:

Lab-grown diamonds are often considered more ethically sourced than mined diamonds, as they don't involve the potential negative environmental impacts and labor issues associated with mining.
