This custom client told us she wanted to make a new ring with the round diamonds from some of her heirloom pieces, but that she also loves baguette diamonds! (We couldn't agree more - they do something almost electric in the light!) She went with this lovely alternating design that mixes a round brilliant-cut center, a few brand new baguettes, and the round single-cut accent diamonds from a passed-down wedding set. (Single-cuts have fewer, bigger, facets than a "brilliant" cut and are common in vintage jewelry, and they look so good mixed in with the baguettes that also have large, simple facets!)

Sal has been sizing rings and soldering chains for the people of Topeka longer than many of our employees have been alive! Today we celebrated his last day on the job with snacks, balloons, friends, family, and even a barbershop quartet! (Not kidding!) We also made him pose for this recreation of an old photo from the days when Calhoun's Jewelers was literally a few guys fixing stuff in a garage.

Congratulations on over 35 years of craftsmanship, dedication, and somehow always being the one to spot the itty bitty diamond someone dropped on the ground. 💎👀
