⚠️ FYI to my fellow small business owners...
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend thinking twice before using ClearSale for e-commerce fraud protection.
Not only did we trust them to protect our business, we also paid a monthly fee for that protection.
The service is supposed to review transactions and either approve or reject them for fraud. My understanding of the agreement was that if ClearSale approved a transaction and it later resulted in a chargeback due to fraud, those approved transactions would be covered under their guarantee.
That was not our experience.
We had nearly $5,000 in chargebacks on transactions that had been approved through their system. When we filed claims, we were put through a lengthy appeals process. Even with our credit card processor working aggressively on our behalf and providing supporting documentation, our claims were ultimately denied.
So, from my perspective, we paid a monthly fee for a fraud protection service that approved these transactions, yet when fraud occurred, we were left absorbing the loss ourselves. That has been an expensive and extremely frustrating experience.
I'm sharing this so other small business owners can do their own research before deciding whether this service is right for them.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with ClearSale? If you've had approved transactions result in chargebacks that were later denied under their guarantee, I'd appreciate hearing your story. If this is a pattern affecting other businesses, I'd be interested in discussing whether anyone is exploring legal options.
This post reflects my personal experience with ClearSale and is intended to invite discussion from others who may have had similar experiences.
Yall please share, can it get 1000 shares?
