Taos, New Mexico is a beautiful town nestled up against the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, and sits at an elevation of 7,000 feet. We spent a couple of nights here and explored the region. ❤️
We really enjoyed our time here and we were surprised to discover how lovely New Mexico is in this NE region of the state.

Arriving in NE, New Mexico into the beautiful mountains and the canyon, we accessed the Enchanted Loop in Eagles Nest, and headed to the north going right.
We spent a night at the top of the loop in a ski mountain town of Red River before traveling the next day down the mountain regions, with a high of 13,000 ft at some points.
This region of New Mexico is the most southern edge of the Rocky Mountains, so acclimating to the altitude and change of atmosphere is quite important when visiting.
We made our way down the mountain along the part of the Rio Grande River Gorge along the west side of the Enchanted Circle. It was a beautiful drive which dropped us in near the Taos Pueblo area.
The Taos Pueblo was one of the places to see that everyone kept saying you have to do, and it did not disappoint.
We had an amazing tour guide that shared a lot of information that we did not know and we both enjoyed this educational experience a lot.
Taos Pueblo began in the 1600’s and is the oldest village in our nation that still has members of its heritage still living there to this day.
They still heat by use of wood only, no electricity or running water, they dry their meat on the drying racks, they drink water from their private river which comes from their villages private mountain lake called Blue Lake. Living there simple life….
Artisans from the village sell their artwork in their heritage family’s homes which become part of one’s inheritance passed down over the years keeping it only within their people.

I have brought in 100’s of pcs including sterling silver rings, one of a kind necklaces, bracelets and earrings, which will be available Friday through Sunday the 5-7 of December in the lovely downtown Anoka shop at The French Market.
Hours are 11-4 pm Th - Sat and 12-5 on Sundays.
I will be in the shop all day Saturday to help any customers pick out items for their lovely ladies in their lives, and for women to help them choose some great Christmas gifts for family and friends.
