Asscher cuts are something special, known for their deep "hall of mirrors" facets that draw the eye in, and ageless symmetry. But the history behind the stone is just as fascinating! It was first developed in 1902 by Joseph Asscher in the Netherlands, and became the first patented diamond cut, cut solely by the Asscher family up until the 1940s. It grew in popularity in the 1920s, lending to the hallmark Art Deco settings that are often used to highlight an Asscher cut diamond. Over a century later, the Asscher cut is still considered one of the most iconic antique diamond cuts! 💎
