Over the 14 years of teaching Reiki, my relationship with Reiki training has evolved more than once.

While I still deeply value Reiki Level I & II teachings, I’ve found myself moving away from the model of trying to move people quickly through multiple levels in a single weekend.

In watching students over the last few years, I’ve felt increasingly called to create spaces that allow for slowing down, embodiment, reflection, & integration.

For me, Reiki Level I has always been about returning to self. It is where we begin learning how to listen more deeply to the body, the nervous system, intuition, energy, & presence. That kind of awareness takes space and time. It takes grounding. It takes time to truly feel what is unfolding within us.

In 2017, when I revamped my trainings, I introduced Qigong practices because I saw how naturally they supported breath, grounding, & awareness of energy flow. But I always felt there was room to go deeper.

A few months ago, during meditation, I had a strong vision of creating a retreat experience that more fully integrated Reiki, Qigong, embodied practices, nature immersion, & contemplative space.

That vision eventually led me to partnering with Dr. Julie Hutsell-Starling, a friend & colleague. When I first approached her, we didn’t yet know exactly what it would become, but it immediately felt aligned. As we continued meeting & talking, the retreat naturally began taking shape.

Rather than approaching Reiki as a standalone certification experience, this retreat allows the practices to support one another within a grounded, restorative container. The mountains themselves become part of the experience, supporting us in slowing down enough to reconnect with ourselves more deeply.

This retreat reflects the direction my work has been growing towards...grounded, experiential spaces that support restoration, embodiment, & genuine connection. It also feels deeply meaningful to return to the mountains where I conducted my doctoral research on spiritual landscapes & experiences of the sacred in nature. Hope you'll join me.

Even if you are already a Reiki Master or have completed Level I, there will be something here for you.

Join me tomorrow evening, Wednesday May 20th at 7 pm for this free community event.

This is the fourth walk in the labyrinth series and final one before I take a pause for the summer. Dusk is a beautiful and special time at the labyrinth in the spring.
Themes: Integration, vitality, and outward movement.

The Labyrinth walk is held at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church in Salter Path, NC. They've graciously allowed me to facilitate these events over the last several years.

The church enjoyed having a picnic style gathering prior to the walk last month, so they'd like to do it again with a hot dog bar with chili, slaw, condiments, and sides. Open to all.

Come to eat and socialize at 5:30 pm or stop by at 7 pm for the labyrinth walk/talk.

I don't offer this every year so if you are a past graduate of Reiki Level II and you are ready for more, message me!

Reiki I works on the physical level,
Reiki II on the emotional/mental level, and
Master on the spiritual level.

Reiki training offers a way to deepen your relationship with energy and in how you move through the world. It can support your own healing, bring a sense of calm to your nervous system, and opens a path to sharing this work with others if that feels aligned.

Not everyone even after Master training offers sessions. Most complete the training for their own growth or to support loved ones.

All Reiki levels include lectures, discussions, and hands on experience/practice time.

Special Invite and Event!!

Next Wednesday will be the third walk in the Labyrinth as Threshold: A Pilgrimage in Place series. The talk and walk will start around 6:15 pm. The monthly labyrinth walks I facilitate are always open to all and free events for the community.
This will be a lovely event as its just before dusk. It's been the favorite and most popular time for these group labyrinth walks over the years.

In April, Spring is in full swing. The world is more alive, colors emerge, and the air feels more spacious. This threshold walk focuses on our own flourishing, connection, vibrancy, and expansion. We move from what we planted the previous month to action and outward engagement.

In addition, and related to the themes of connection and outward engagement, the church, St. Francis by the Sea has graciously allowed me to facilitate these walks over the years. They would like to host a picnic style community-wide gathering at 5:30 pm!

All are welcome. Come to socialize and eat at 5:30 pm or show up at 6:15 for the talk and walk.

Here's the message from the church's newsletter this week:
Join us for this SFBTS Community-wide event on Wednesday, April 22, at 5:30 p.m. Bring your sandwiches, fried chicken, salads, etc. Feel free to share your picnic or eat what you bring for this casual meal. St. Francis will provide chips, drinks, ice, and cookies.

This will be the last offering of Reiki Level I and II for 2026.

Enroll in one or both levels for the weekend.

If you’ve been contemplating or quietly dreaming about stepping into this work, perhaps this is your time. I know from hearing from some of you, that you've been thinking about this for years. Is this the year you follow that inner nudge?

Reiki training offers a way to deepen your relationship with energy and in how you move through the world. It can support your own healing, bring a sense of calm to your nervous system, and opens a path to sharing this work with others if that feels aligned. Not everyone offers sessions after, most complete the training for their own growth or to support loved ones.

Although there are many other modalities today, Reiki is a beautiful gateway into learning to sense and feel energy. Reiki Level I is a perfect standalone as an introduction to energy, personal growth, and self-awareness/reflection.

All Reiki levels include lectures, discussions, and hands on experience/practice time.

There is a moment…right at the entrance.

Where something shifts.

The air feels different.
The noise softens.

Your body knows before your mind does
you are no longer just walking.

Something internal whispers this is important something is going to shift within, if you allow, "pay attention".

You are crossing a threshold.

The labyrinth experience at St. Francis by the Sea Episocpal Church doesn't begin at the first turn on the actual labyrinth, it begins the instant you walk into the space.

This is a thin place, a place between worlds.

A quiet invitation to slow down.

To listen more closely.
To walk more slowly.
To remember something ancient within you.

Pause here.

Breathe.

Can you feel it?

Message me if you are interested and I'll be sure to let you know as dates/locations finalize.
