Mr. Danny Ray C**n, 70, of Summit, MS, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Danny was born in Tylertown, MS on January 21, 1951 and was the son of the late Alvie Quitman C**n and Zula Mae Dunaway C**n. He worked many years offshore and overseas before being diagnosed with MS. He was a member of the Holmesville Baptist Church in McComb, MS.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Sam and Verlis Dunaway and Linus and Nellie C**n; two sisters-in-law, Wilda and Bonnie C**n and one brother-in-law, David Jones.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty Alexander C**n of Summit, MS; two sons, Danny Dewayne C**n and wife, Joaunna of Pricedale, MS and Jeffrey Lynn C**n and wife, Misty of Magnolia, MS; six grandchildren, Samantha C**n Phelps and husband, Jacob, Alexander David C**n and wife, Melea, Abigail Elizabeth C**n, Masey Morris Holmes and husband, Nick, Lauren Ann C**n, Kyle Jeffrey C**n; one great-grandson, Clark Alexander C**n; three brothers, D.V. C**n and wife, Joyce, Ernest C**n and wife, Eva, and Jerry C**n and wife, Sylvia; two sisters, Kathy Jones and friend, Floyd Martin, and Sheila Arnold and husband, Keith; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Fay Alexander; one brother-in-law, William F. Brent; one special cousin, Lanell King, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 1PM until time of Celebration of Life service at 3PM at his residence, 1045 C.D. Rayborn Rd., Summit, MS, 39666 with Bro. William Leland Smith officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice Compassus staff for all of their care and devotion shown to Danny and his family during his last days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to continue his tradition of giving to needy children at Christmas. Danny did this for many years and we will continue in his name. The family requests that everyone bring a toy to the Celebration of Life service.
