Rest in peace, Dolly. Thank you for the music and all the sparkle.

Laurie shares a memory, “I developed an appreciation for her slowly but surely and today I shed tears of admiration knowing her time with us is finished.
I remember where I was the first time I heard “ Jolene” in a bar outside of Atlanta, relaxing after a workday at a trade show.
I instantly loved her honesty and musical repertoire.
We did a show once in Severeville, in her beautiful hometown in the Smoky mountains. It was otherworldly and her presence was everywhere… hometown girl makes good in that “we’re so proud of her” community.
Most impressive of all and a fine example to emulate was her generosity…to her family, community and society at large.
Someone turned me on to a photo of Dolly wearing “Sadie Green’s” chandelier earrings, which I have proudly displayed ever since. Yesterday I opened a box that had been sealed since 1987 , and unearthed a sample line of the chandelier earring collection. I was delighted and sat right down and carded them all up, noticing the pair Dolly sported in the late 80’s.
So here we are…losing a great soul who made so many lives better, blessed us with her musical talent and set a fine example of giving generously throughout her life.”
