Not every Rolex Daytona is a safe buy in 2026.
The original John Mayer, the Rolex Daytona Le Mans, and the new John Mayer Daytona 126508 have all experienced massive hype-driven price movements. But there’s a big difference between a watch’s listing price and what it actually sells for.
The original John Mayer Daytona went from $37,000 to over $125,000 before dropping to around $65,000. The Rolex Le Mans reached nearly $300,000 after discontinuation, while the watch itself never changed. And the new John Mayer 126508 went from a $48,400 retail price to around $200,000 before settling near $90,000.
If you’re buying a Rolex Daytona in 2026, don’t just follow the hype. Understand the Rolex market, actual sales prices, market value, and timing before you buy.
