Ornate Antique Handmade Wineglass from Germany/Bavaria

Finely decorated handmade antique Roemer (Römer) stemmed chalice/wineglass, green with gilt. 7 1/4 inches tall. Don’t know the maker, though similar glasses are attributed to Moser. The Roemer stem was made by coiling glass threads, and the gilt decoration is extremely detailed, applied by a very steady artistic hand. Truly a beautiful piece. $45. Call Robert @ 651-271-1611.

Large Museum Quality 19th Century Benin Bronze Warrior Statue

A fine example of Benin (Yoruba culture) bronze statuary: believed to be 19th century, but could be older; naturally aged and weathered patina; intact including shield, which attaches separately. Interesting iconography—cat image on front, patterns front and back, concentric circles on shield, consistent with older warrior types so far researched. Stands on its own on a hard surface. Old Bronze Buddha Head
A really fine bronze Buddha head on an old, angle-carved teakwood stand. I think it must be difficult to accurately determine the age of such heads. There are a fair number for sale on line, with a range of age claims and prices. The stand with this one, which beautifully compliments, shows good age, a reasonable indicator that the head is probably at least as old as the stand. The head has a terrific look, one of the best I have seen. Total height including stand about 6” by 2 1/2, head alone about 3” by 1 3/4”. $150. For more info call Robert at (651) 271-1611.

My father brought these marvelous bronze temple dragons back from Thailand around 1970, where he was stationed during the Vietnam War. They look to be sand-cast and are quite heavy, with interesting surface patterns, clouds perhaps? One has a piece missing from the back part of the base, maybe a casting flaw rather than later damage, hardly matters, otherwise both are in very good condition. 9”height, 7 1/2”deep, 4 1/2”wide. $550/pair.

Fossilized Sand Dollar Necklace

Wonderful necklace with a fossilized sand dollar in bronze pendant. Necklace is strung with glass beads, metal beads, and natural semiprecious stone beads including carnelian agate, brecciated jasper, and mahogany obsidian. The sand dollar pendant measures one inch across. The necklace itself measures about 20 inches, with the pendant adding another 1 1/4 inches in length.

Exceptional 1800s Chinese Rosewood and Marble Stand

A truly exceptional Chinese carved rosewood & marble stand: dates to 1800’s, possibly very early 1900’s. I have not seen another Chinese stand like it in design/form: 5-sided; superb carving, with characters (Happiness, I think) carved all sides; quite heavy, still solid and sturdy; I spent plenty of time with a tooth brush and wood oil cleaning long accumulated dust & oiling dry surfaces, and one could still do more in the harder to get places!; height, 17 1/2” width base, 15” width body; 11 1/2” width top (hard to measure a five-sided stand!). $450. Excellent original saga painting by Norwegian artist Eivind Nielsen, 1864-1939; well known illustrator and painter. The scene is one from the Icelandic saga ‘Fager er Lien’, about Gunnar of Lindarendi, the 1800’s book of which was illustrated by Nielson. Painting is oil on wood, 16” x 22”, signed and dated 1930 with heavy 22” x 28” wood frame. Painting and frame are in very good condition for age. $460. For more info call Bob @ 651-271-1611.

Excellent long strand of 1800’s Vaseline glass trade beads produced in Bohemia with low amounts of Uranium, which causes them to glow a beautiful green under a black light: 59 beads; a few are chipped, as is typical, but most are in very good condition for their age. 27” length not including 5” of end chord. $165.

Designed this necklace for a store we owned many years ago, incorporating antique Venetian and Bohemian glass trade beads and cutting leather spacers to separate the strands: strung on artificial sinew braided at one end to slip over the end bead. It is finished and ready to wear, though the strand ends were left trimmed as I liked the art look and because some of our necklaces were purchased for display. Thanks for your interest. $85.
