This necklace was created to tell the story of one family, incorporating the birth flowers and birthstones of her four children into something just for her.

Custom jewelry gives us the opportunity to take the people, moments, and stories that matter most and turn them into something tangible. 🌸

🔥 What is annealing, and why do we do it?

As metal is worked, it becomes harder and less willing to move. Annealing is the process of carefully heating the metal to restore its workability, allowing it to be formed further, without causing additional stress.

This ring began its life as a sterling silver spoon from a client's family heirloom set. Rather than leave it tucked away and unused, she wanted to turn a piece of that history into something she could wear.

So... we made a ring. A ring - not a particularly subtle one - that needed some serious forming.

This thing is MASSIVE; unapologetically oversized, heavy, sculptural, and one of the most substantial spoon rings I've ever made.

I love projects like this because jewelry doesn't always have to start with new materials. Sometimes the most meaningful pieces begin with something that already has a story, and the challenge is figuring out how to give that story another life. ⚒️👊🏼
